Organised by the Kadur Auto Sports Club
& held after a gap of two years the event attracted about 20
enteries who took the start at Mysore,on the last Christmas day of
the 20th Century. The terrain for the major part of the event was
dirt roads along the banks of a few canals with one stage going
through thick forests.
The event had two major teams participating
namely,Team Zen and Team Pushpak Yamaha, the rest of the competition
came from privateers and the like. The guys on the Yamaha's [Team
Pushpak] claimed overall as well as Grp.C honours with their riders
Rupesh and Akash Ithal coming in first and second respectivley..Team
Zen on their Suzuki's ran away with the Grp.D title along with a
number of placings on the overall scoreboard.Due credit goes to S.P
Chinappa who finished the event without a tyre on his back wheel
(which was sort of square in shape!).
This particular event is not part of the
National Rally Championship but runs on a similar
format. |
